Happy Smiles

Hadlie's famous words are "a huh" and " unt a a". It is the funniest and cutest little thing about her. She also loves to yell out for "sis" "dad" and "mom mom". She is the happiest little girl and is always, always, smiling! Emersyn is such a happy baby too. She loves when we talk to her! She talks back and smiles so big.I can't believe she's three months old already! That time has gone by so fast. I'm so blessed to have these two sweet happy girls! I can always count on my sweet babies to put a smile on my face!

Pure Cuteness and Joy

This little man has been so stinkin cute lately. I just love having a boy so much, even more I just absolutely LOVE having Jackson as my little boy. He has just put a smile on my face everyday and always has something funny to say to make us all laugh. He is so in love with his sisters and it is the cutest thing. Hadlie and Emersyn have always gotten their little cheeks kissed off by him. Madilyn is who he looks up to and tries so much to be like. Just now as I was sitting down to get on the computer he came in and said he needed his back tickled. He saw Hadlie laying next to me asleep and just starred at her. He eventually said, "I just love that face so much!" It just melts my heart how sweet and loving his heart is and how much he really loves his family. He is such a good little boy that really tries to do what is right and be a good boy. I just have to put down a couple little funnies from that past couple days just to remember and giggle at. Tonight as I was putting him to bed I was loving him and kissing his cheeks and I said "Jackson oh I love you SO MUCH!" He says "84 1 calories long?" I just laughed and said "LONGER!" His thing lately is that everything is as big as 84 1. So darn cute! Yesterday Madilyn went to go to the bathroom and happened to sit in a little bit of wet that he made after he went to the bathroom (trying to keep this as clean as possible but his personality is so cute I have to write it down). Madilyn yells out, "Oh Jackson! It's wet again!" Jackson says back to her "Well.... I guess you should have been a boy then!" One more. I was at the store and Jackson was laying with Jonathan as he did his homework. Jackson saw an add of the Allstate commercial come up and Jackson says, "Dad I know that guy" In a deep voice he says, "He says this... You're in good hands!" Jon was laughing so hard at his cuteness and I was cracking up when Jonathan told me. He just has the cutest little personality! I am so blessed to have Jackson as my little boy. I always think about a conference talk that was given 2 years ago about how we may need our little ones more than we think and sometimes more than they need us. I always believed this with Jackson. He has been such a busy, rambunctious, happy little spirit in our home and has just taught me more than I could have even thought he could in his amazing 4 years. I know he was sent to me to help me to learn, grow, and become better. I am so grateful for his happy personality. He makes me laugh everyday.

My sweet Madilyn May

I have been feeling so much love and appreciation for my sweet Madilyn lately. I just don't know how I got so lucky to have her as my daughter. She is such an amazing little girl. She always has been. I couldn't have made it through the last 2 years of Jonathan's Anesthesia schooling without her. She is my other hands that I need so much without Jon being here all the time. Since Emersyn was born, she has done so much to help me out with the other little ones and it's all been on her own doing. She says "Mom you just stay in bed. I know you are so tired from having to wake up and feed Emersyn in the night so I'll make breakfast for everyone, and you just rest." And she does. What 6 year old says that? She insists. She wants to do it! She will make beds and clean up and do dishes and help with Jackson, Hadlie, AND Emersyn, just all on her own. She is just amazing. She has a heart of gold. At such a young age she is so selfless and giving. I truly learn from her everyday. She helps me see so many things from a different perspective. A perspective that I need to see things through. She helps me to be try my hardest to be a better mom. I am so very blessed and incredibly grateful to have her. I just love her so much! I have just had such a full heart about my two oldest babies lately and had to post my feelings. I just hope to keep trying to be a better person and a better mom and a little more like Madilyn!

Tooth number 6

Madilyn lost her 6th tooth this week. She woke up and said "This tooth is about ready to come out and it's going to happen today!" That's what happened with her last tooth that she lost! So after an hour or so it was out. She gets so nervous about it coming out. It's really cute to watch her feeling so nervous and the so excited once it's out. She put it in a baggy once it was out and Jon accidentally threw it away. She was so heart broken. She cried and cried as Jonathan went and searched the dumpster for the baggy. No luck. Madilyn left the tooth fairy a note telling her what happened and that she hopes to get "real magic to be a real fairy" as she's asked on the past 5 teeth.... The tooth fairy still came and left her a note that made everything ok for her. Madilyn was so happy to get a special letter from the tooth fairy. She got magic that made her hand fly up a few times she says, but she still isn't a fairy from her magic yet... So cute to see her imagination! I don't think it will be long before number 7 falls out!

Sunshine and Happiness

We have absolutely enjoyed the blue skies and sun again in Arizona. There is something so amazing about it. It just makes you happy. So we have played at the park and visited a petting zoo where Madilyn and Jackson also got to ride a camel. They were so excited. It was so fun watching the kids feed the animals at the petting zoo. They were so nervous but wanted to feed them so badly. Once they finally got the guts up to let the animals lick their little hands, they laughed and loved it. Hadlie wanted to touch the animals so bad (she loves loves animals! especially dogs!) but got to nervous and backed away. Jon was off for the day so we went to Taco Bell and the petting zoo. It was a fun day!

There's No Place Like Home

What a adventure this move to Safford, Arizona has been! We moved here for Jonathan's 4th rotation (1 more to go!!)for 10 weeks. We left on Thursday morning and finally made it to Safford on Saturday March 2nd. When we got here I wasn't sure what to think when we pulled up to the apartment complex. You get what you get....I guess. We met some very nice missionaries who asked if they could help us move in. So as we opened the door to the apartment we were struck with a really strong smell of cigarettes. We think the previous tenants smoked in the unit as well as the person next door and it was coming through the vents. So we talked to manager and told her that we were going to go look for another apartment and if we were able to find one we wanted our money back because that was just not a livable situation for us. So we spent 3 hours driving around to different places looking for an apartment. We had no luck. The missionaries told us that the apartment complex that we were at was the safest and all the others were pretty sketchy. So we ended up staying in a hotel because the smell was too strong, didn't have power on like we had scheduled, and didn't know what else to do. We sprayed ozium in the apartment all weekend and tried to remove the smell. The manager of the apartment complex left for the weekend so we stayed in the hotel until Monday morning when we got the power turned. So we went and bought everything for the apartment because it was supposed to be furnished but had nothing but a mattress, dresser, and table and we brought nothing but clothes. After 200.00's worth of sheets, towels, silverware, plates, pillows, pots and pans and all of that stuff, me and the kids started moving in. As I was cleaning out the dresser I opened the drawer to a huge huge brown disgusting spider infestation. I HATE spiders!! So that was it. We were out of there. I started repacking and we left back to the hotel. We were homeless. Madilyn said a prayer for us. Shortly after that we found out the same complex might have a one bedroom for us. The manager was not being very nice to me as we were discussing this and I broke down in tears. I just couldn't hold it in anymore. She was so mean and wasn't empathetic at all! I told her that it had been 5 days of living in a hotel, being homeless, over $200 on furnishings, $400 on hotel stays, driving so many miles and days with our little kids that didn't have anywhere to call home and this was all just too much. Jonathan checked out the one bedroom for us and it was MUCH better. So we finally have an apartment. A place to call home for 10 weeks. So we're finally in. Here's a few pictures of our week.

Kidney Stones=NO FUN!

So we finally figured it out. After many months of feeling like I had a kidney stone, but nothing ever coming out, the stone that was very unwanted was found on ultra sound. And it wasn't coming out. I went back to New Mexico hoping that I could just drink my guts out and it would eventually come out. It never did, so I ended up having to have surgery to remove a huge 8mm stone. I can't believe how much better I feel and looking back how completely awful I felt. I'm so excited to go to Arizona, feeling great. The sunny weather, feeling good again, and being with my favorite people equals complete happiness!

Emersyn Faith

We weren't planning on coming up to Utah again before going to Arizona, so when we came up for some doctor appointments we thought we should bless Emersyn. So we gave her a name and a blessing on February 8, 2013.

Fun Times In New Mexico

Our adventure in New Mexico ended. We left on Thursday morning after a crazy week of trying to figure out the best day to leave. We knew I needed to have surgery to have a kidney stone removed. So we figured we should do it in Salt Lake while Jonathan is on break in between rotations. New Mexico seemed a little crazy at first. We really had to get used to a one bedroom apartment with 6 people living in it. We had a lot of fun being back all together as a family again though. As we were leaving to go back to UT, we all said what we would remember most about New Mexico. We all said we would remember the weekends that consisted of driving around car dealership lots, Taco Bell, and Dairy Queen cherry dipped cones. The kids taking the couch cushions off everyday to jump on and play in, me taking baths everyday a few times a day trying to get relief from the fun 8mm kidney stone I had, our new baby Emersyn in our family, Friday night movie nights, the Aztec Ruins, Hadlie no longer wanting to sleep in her bed, Jonathan and his busy days at San Juan Regional Medical Center, and of course just being all together. Here's some pictures of those memories!

Documenting my many blessings...

I was feeling tired of all the posting on facebook and thought, I wish I had a better way of documenting our sweet babies as they grow and do the cute things they do everyday. So I remembered our family blog that I haven't updated for years. I figured this is much better than facebook and I can keep it as a scrapbook and journal. So I'm going to update this as a journal for our family. It seemed to me today that it would be an awesome thing for my kids to have someday. Just seeing the journey of our lives. I might as well just give a brief update because I could never fill in the huge gap from the past 4 years. The main thing is that we are on an adventure with Jonathan and his schooling to become an Anesthetist. We are living in New Mexico for 1 more week until our adventure takes us to Arizona for 5 more months and that's it! He'll be all finished! We just had our sweet baby Emersyn 10 weeks ago. She is such as sweet and happy baby. She loves to smile at all of her family! Madilyn is 6 years, going on 18 next month;)I can't even say how much I am blessed to have her. She is like my other hand in this crazy journey. She helps me so unbelievably much. You would never believe she is 6. The most amazing part is she just willing does it without being asked. She just loves to help me and her brother and sisters. She's amazing! Jackson is 4 now. I can't believe how fast his sweet little 4 year old life has gone. I feel like he was just born! He is the happiest, funniest, most energetic little man. He loves his sisters more than I could even try to describe. He kisses them constantly throughout his day and tries to take care of them however he can. I am so incredibly blessed to have him. He is a little part of my life that I know that I was blessed with, because I need. I definitely learn from him each day. I love his little guts so much. Then we have our Hadlie Janers. She is the funniest little babe. She doesn't want to talk in words yet, but can definitltey give us a laugh and put on a show. She has so much personality. She is such a light in our lives. She makes us all happy with her non erasable smile. Jon is doing awesome in school, loving what he's doing. We are so grateful for all he does for our family. He is the most amazing dad and husband even with his incredibly busy school and work schedule. Then there is me. Just doing what I always wanted to do. Be a mom. I'm the luckiest girl in the world. So blessed. I have so many blessing. I felt like I needed to do this partly for me. To recognize each day, all of my blessings. Some days seem crazy living in a one bedroom apartment, having messes because we have no room, not getting to go anywhere in the cold weather, and it brings me down. This way I can document the good, positive things that I have in my life because I really am so blessed. So for a long first post....here's our sweet family right now!

Update on Madilyn

This is our girly girl. She is living in her princess dress up dresses, always doing her hair, and always singing and dancing. And I mean always! She is so funny lately. She doesn't want to wear anything other than her swimsuit with a dress over it. She loves her singing and dancing class. She gets so excited when its dance day. Madilyn is also the BEST big sister. She wants to do anything and everything for Jackson. She always says she loves her brother so much. She is so stinkin smart. She can write her name, she has been able to count and say her ABC's since she was two. She is just a bright girl who loves to learn.

Update on Jackson

Jackson is getting so big so fast. He is already 4 months old! He is talking all the time. He loves to be talked to and played with. He would much rather be held than anything else, well other that eat. He sits in his jumper and talks and jumps like crazy. He has found his hands and is starting to grab for things. Its so cute. He goes for his 4 month check next week, can't wait to see how he's doing percentage wise! Such a cute boy, just love love love having a boy!

Valentines Day

This is Valentines Day morning. Jon and I got a new little out fit for the both of them and some new forks and spoons. Jon and I got to have the night out while my mom tended. We went to chillis and then to a movie. After we went home to do our tradition of making chocolate covered strawberries together as a fam. Madilyn absolutley loves dipping them.
